Maria Grachvogel is a British fashion designer who was born in London in 1969. She counts movie stars amongst her clients, and has provided designer dresses for Marie Helvin, Rachel Weisz, Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham, Yasmin Le Bon and Scarlett Johannson.
She founded the Maria Grachvogel label in 1994, although she never received any formal training at fashion college. Maria's dresses always have a certain sense of style about them - they seem to show off a woman's feminity and curves without ever being too overtly sexual. They flow around the body to emphasise its good points and minimise its not so good points. For example, Maria Grachvogel trousers are cut in a way that lengthens the legs but mimimises the size of the hips, leading to the nickname "magic pants" amongst fashionistas.
The Maria Grachvogel bricks and mortar London store opened on Sloane Street in 2001.
